Still a good piece of software,except for the added ASK TOOLBAR! Well deserved five stars! I'll give it 10 stars when they resolve the drag and drop crashes! :) All you need to make it work is actually just the main exe file and nothing else. )Īlso, I find it so convenient that I can install it so easily and burn CD/DVDs in a matter of seconds! Just use 7-zip to unpack it. I still give it 5 stars for reliability when you press the "burn button".
:-/ So sometimes, when I have a bigger "build" to make, I save the project after every drag and drop addition. So you have to "build" the project all over again. It just goes "poof" and gives me the "application crashed" screen. However, there is still a very annoying bug that makes it crash, and it happens *quite often* when I'm in a "Build" mode and dragging files from the Explorer into it. ) In I don't really know how many years, the program itself never failed me.
The only time, so far, that it failed to burn a DVD, was when my burner went to burner holy land. It's VERY reliable regarding burning CD/DVDs. The crap included with many of these free programs is, unfortunately, just waiting to be installed.I love this program and use it for years now. It seems like the only conclusion to be drawn (at least with freeware) is to expect crapware unless otherwise proven to be safe and always proceed with caution when downloading anything what so ever off the internet. I started using a PC over 20 years ago and it seemed there were far "more" trustworthy sites, albeit fewer sites versus now days.
One thing is for sure, there is a tremendous amount of crapware just waiting to be installed on PCs for all of those unsuspecting people. Also, that Ninite program mentioned sounds like something interesting to check out. I do like some replies here such as using 7-Zip and installing programs, such as Img Burn off-line. I am not familiar with creating an iso via the command line and i'd have to learn how to do that. Of course, I accepted and saw dozens of pup files from this downloaded version of ImgBurn.
However, a subsequent scan of the PC indicated there "was" potentially unwanted programs included and offered to quarantine them for me. I haven't had a lot of time to play with Img Burn, but I will say again that my scan from Malware Bytes initially identified the download as safe from.
